🎓 Secondary School Admission in Poland – Questions & Answers (Q&A)

The application stage for Polish secondary schools has now ended. Many parents are waiting for the results of the Grade 8 Exam and wondering what happens next. Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

❓ When will the Grade 8 Exam results be published?
📅 3 July 2026. On this day, students will receive their exam results and collect their official results certificate from their primary school.

❓ What should I do after receiving the results?
The primary school leaving certificate and the Grade 8 Exam results certificate should be submitted to the first-choice secondary school (if they have not already been submitted). These documents are used to calculate admission points.

❓ How are admission points calculated?
Points are awarded based on the Grade 8 Exam results, school grades, and additional achievements such as graduating with honours, academic competitions, or volunteer work.

❓ When will I know if my child has been accepted?
After all documents have been verified, schools will publish the lists of qualified candidates. The information will also be available in the online admission system.

❓ Does „qualified” mean „accepted”?
No. This is an important distinction. If your child is qualified, you must still confirm the intention to attend the school and submit the required original documents. Only then will the student be officially admitted.

❓ What if my child is not accepted to any school?
Don’t worry. Your child can still participate in the supplementary admission process, during which schools with available places continue recruitment.

❓ Where can I get help?
